A Tuesday evening storm left residents facing a scene that looked more like midwinter than severe weather season, after giant hail battered the town and left behind piles of jagged ice, damaged vehicles, and shaken families.
Once the storm moved out, the streets grew unusually quiet. The sound of rainwater dripping from roofs and trees mixed with distant sirens as people stepped outside to see what had happened. Lawns were coated in white chunks of hail, and many vehicles showed visible damage, including cracked or collapsed windshields.
Neighbors compared stories of rushing indoors, sheltering away from windows, and waiting for the worst of the storm to pass. Even after the sky began to clear, the distant sound of thunder was enough to make some residents flinch.
Emergency Crews Moved Through the Area
Emergency crews began checking blocked streets and looking in on vulnerable residents, including elderly neighbors who may have needed help after the storm. In parts of town, power flickered as families used flashlights and phones to stay updated and document the damage.
