A serious multi-vehicle crash disrupted travel on the Mexico–Querétaro Highway on Wednesday after a trailer reportedly lost control near Huehuetoca, State of Mexico, leaving drivers stuck in heavy delays while emergency crews cleared the scene.
The accident happened near kilometer 59, close to the Jorobas intersection, on one of the region’s busiest highway corridors. Early reports indicate the trailer was heading toward Mexico City when the driver was unable to stop in time.
What Authorities Reported
According to initial information, the heavy vehicle first hit a roadside embankment before colliding with at least five cars and a pickup truck. The impact left the trailer blocking all three north-to-south lanes, forcing a partial closure of the highway.
Emergency responders and paramedics arrived to assist people involved in the crash. No fatalities or life-threatening injuries were reported. Several people were treated for minor injuries at the scene, while others were advised to seek medical evaluation at nearby hospitals as a precaution.
