Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a well-known conservative activist, was speaking outdoors at the university in Orem, Utah, on September 10, 2025, when a shot was fired from a rooftop overlooking the gathering. Authorities said about 3,000 people were in the courtyard area at the time.
Kirk was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. What followed was an urgent law enforcement response involving Utah authorities and the FBI, with investigators asking attendees to share photos, videos, and any other information that could help establish what happened before and after the shot was fired.
