When Natalie walked into her home after a long shift, she expected the usual signs of an ordinary evening. Instead, she found a diaper bag on the kitchen counter, her sister-in-law settled on the couch, and a decision about her own house already made without her.
Her husband, Ethan, told her his pregnant sister Rebecca and Rebecca’s husband, Mark, needed a place to stay. Natalie was not asked. She was simply informed.
When Natalie questioned it, the conversation turned cold. Ethan told her to take the guest room. Rebecca went further and said Natalie should move out by the weekend.
