Two Florida Moms Saw the Footage and Made a Hard Call

Two Florida mothers faced the kind of decision most parents hope they never have to make: protect their children from consequences, or report what they believed their children had done.

According to the account, deputies responding to Friendship Elementary found serious damage at the school, including a shattered glass door and destruction inside the media center. The damage was estimated at more than $50,000.

The case drew attention not only because of the cost of the vandalism, but because of what happened after the incident was captured on footage. The mothers reportedly recognized their sons behind masks and contacted the sheriff.

A Costly Night at an Elementary School

The damage described at Friendship Elementary went beyond a small mess or a childish prank. A broken glass door, damaged school property, and a media center left in ruins meant the incident carried a major financial impact for the school community.
