A Voice That Brings Calm in Difficult Moments

Lindon Beckford works as a patient transporter at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. His job involves moving patients between departments—often to procedures or tests that can make them feel nervous or uncertain.

To ease those tense moments, Beckford does something unexpected: he sings.

Singing has always been part of his life. From childhood, it was a natural way for him to express himself and feel at ease. Over time, he found that humming a tune while working helped him stay relaxed during busy hospital shifts.

Eventually, he realized something surprising—patients were listening. And many of them were deeply touched by it.
