A routine morning commute in Mexico City turned into a scene of chaos and tragedy when a tanker carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) overturned on the Iztapalapa–Chalco highway, igniting a massive fire. The incident left a trail of destruction, claiming lives and injuring dozens, while residents and officials grapple with the aftermath.
According to witnesses, the explosion was sudden and overwhelming. A deafening roar shook nearby homes, and thick black smoke quickly filled the sky. Drivers caught in traffic faced a harrowing choice: flee for safety or risk being caught in the flames. Over 30 vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, were engulfed in the fire.
