Leukemia can begin quietly. It does not always appear with obvious or alarming symptoms at first. In many cases, the early signs look like everyday problems — tiredness, frequent infections, easy bruising, or feeling run down for no clear reason.
That is what makes awareness so important. When small health changes continue for weeks or keep coming back, they should not be ignored.
What Happens in the Body
Leukemia affects the blood and bone marrow, where new blood cells are made.
Normally, the bone marrow produces healthy red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. These cells help carry oxygen, fight infections, and control bleeding.
