Rep. Ilhan Omar Targeted by Unknown Substance at Minneapolis Town Hall

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) was sprayed with an unknown substance by a man during a town hall meeting Tuesday evening in Minneapolis, law enforcement said. The suspect was quickly restrained and arrested by authorities.

The incident occurred while Omar was addressing constituents and discussing U.S. immigration enforcement policies. According to Minneapolis police, the man, identified as 55-year-old Anthony Kazmierczak, sprayed a liquid at Omar using a syringe-like device before being tackled by security and police. He was booked on suspicion of third-degree assault.
