Fetterman Declines to Block DHS Funding Amid Democratic Pressure

Pennsylvania U.S. Senator John Fetterman announced this week that he will not vote to block funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), despite calls from several Democratic lawmakers urging stricter conditions on the agency’s budget.

Fetterman’s decision comes as Congress faces a critical spending vote and highlights divisions within the Democratic Party over immigration enforcement and oversight.

Several Pennsylvania House Democrats sent a formal letter to Fetterman and Republican Senator Dave McCormick urging them to oppose any DHS funding bill that does not include reforms to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and related agencies.
