A Lighthearted Reminder of What True Happiness Looks Like

Then it was the third nun’s turn. Calm and thoughtful, she considered her answer carefully. “I want to be Alberto Pipalini,” she said quietly. St. Peter paused, flipping through the heavenly records. “I’m not familiar with that name,” he admitted.

The nun showed him a small newspaper clipping with the headline: ‘Local Man Alberto Pipalini Named Happiest Person Alive.’ The article described Alberto as someone who lived simply—running a small family business, helping others, laughing often, and finding joy in everyday moments rather than seeking fame or recognition.

St. Peter laughed warmly. “After all I’ve seen,” he said, wiping a tear from his eye, “that may be the wisest choice of all.” With a wave of his hand, the third nun disappeared as well.

As the gates closed, St. Peter reflected on a simple truth: happiness isn’t always found in fame or applause, but in gratitude, balance, and joy in the ordinary. On Earth, the three former nuns were learning that fun can take many forms—but contentment is the real miracle.
