A Birthday Scotch With a Twist
An elegant elderly woman walked into a cruise ship bar and politely ordered a Scotch—“just two drops of water, please.”
When the bartender set it in front of her, she smiled warmly.
“I’m celebrating my 80th birthday today,” she said.
“Well then, happy birthday! This one’s on the house,” the bartender replied with a laugh.
After finishing, a fellow passenger offered to buy her a drink. She nodded graciously, ordering the same Scotch with two drops of water. Minutes later, a man on her other side offered as well, and again she politely accepted—same order.
Curious, the bartender finally asked, “Ma’am, why only two drops of water each time?”
She giggled, her eyes twinkling.
“Son,” she said, “at my age, I’ve learned to handle my liquor. Water, however, is a completely different challenge.”

Another wise woman walked into a bank to withdraw cash. Handing her card to the teller, she said, “I’d like to withdraw $500, please.”
