We brought the dog under better lighting and examined his fur more closely.
He seemed completely unconcerned with the whole situation. While we inspected the strange object, he continued going about his business as though nothing unusual had happened.

Eventually, my girlfriend took a closer look and carefully removed the object.
That’s when we realized what it was.
They were fake eyelashes that had somehow become caught in the dog’s fur during the walk.

All the worrying and guessing immediately gave way to laughter. The dog, meanwhile, seemed completely uninterested in the discovery and was perfectly happy to continue with his evening.

When we don’t immediately understand what we’re seeing, it’s easy to imagine all kinds of possibilities. Taking a moment to stay calm, inspect the situation carefully, and avoid jumping to conclusions can make a big difference.
