An Elderly Woman Questioned Her Diagnosis Until One Doctor Shared the Truth

An 80-year-old woman decided one morning that she had finally waited long enough.

For years, she had lived independently, rarely visiting doctors unless absolutely necessary. She wasn’t dramatic about her health, and she certainly wasn’t easily embarrassed. But this time, something persistent was bothering her—an irritation she simply couldn’t ignore.

It started small. A mild discomfort she assumed would fade. But instead of disappearing, it lingered. Days passed. Then weeks. And with time, the annoyance became impossible to dismiss.

Eventually, she booked an appointment.

In the clinic, she sat calmly in the waiting room, composed as ever, as if nothing unusual was happening. When her name was called, she followed the nurse inside without hesitation.

The doctor listened carefully as she described her symptoms. After a brief examination, he gave a straightforward answer.

“You have crabs,” he said.

She froze.

For a moment, she thought she had misheard him.

Then she straightened her posture.

“That can’t be right,” she replied firmly. “I’m 80 years old. I’ve never had an intimate relationship in my life.”
