Britain’s Youngest Mother
In 2006, Tressa Middleton made headlines as Britain’s youngest mother, giving birth at just 12 years and 8 months. Her pregnancy ignited national outrage, and she could hardly step outside without being recognized. At the time, she claimed the father was a local boy—but the truth would shock the nation.
A Childhood of Hardship
Born in 1994 in Broxburn, Scotland, Tressa grew up fast. Taken into care at age four, she faced a childhood marked by poverty, instability, and early exposure to alcohol. “My mom was homeless, and I had to go into care. All my friends were older than me,” she recalled.

Early Motherhood and Heartbreak
At 11, Tressa’s pregnancy became public. Raised in a chaotic home, she gave birth shortly after finishing elementary school. Her daughter, Annie, was taken from her two years later as Tressa struggled with depression and addiction. “The last time I saw her, she was crying for her new parents. It broke my heart,” Tressa shared.
A Dark Secret Revealed
For years, the identity of her daughter’s father remained hidden. In 2009, Tressa revealed she had been sexually abused by her older brother, Jason Middleton. The abuse began when she was just seven, culminating in the pregnancy at age 12.
Battling Addiction and Trauma
After the trauma, Tressa spiraled into a $500-a-day heroin addiction. She described the manipulation and threats from her brother, which left her feeling lost and broken. With the support of her fiancé, Darren, she fought to rebuild her life and get clean.
