Attorney General Pam Bondi Questions Senator Durbin Over Epstein Flight Log Release

Bondi asked Durbin about his role in blocking the release of the logs in 2023 and 2024 and inquired about campaign contributions from individuals associated with Epstein. Durbin denied receiving direct contributions from those individuals, though some donors have supported organizations connected to the senator.

During the exchange, Durbin stated that he had requested any requests for documents, including flight logs, to be submitted in writing. Blackburn clarified that her team had provided such documentation multiple times, and she offered to resubmit it if necessary.

Bondi Highlights Department of Justice Priorities

In her opening statement, Bondi emphasized the Department of Justice’s commitment to public safety and law enforcement. She outlined achievements since her confirmation as Attorney General, including federal operations in Washington, D.C., and Memphis that coordinated with local authorities to address violent crime.

Bondi also referenced the Department’s work in civil rights enforcement and prosecuting criminal activity, stressing the importance of maintaining public trust in law enforcement. She said the Department remains focused on its core mission of protecting the public and upholding the rule of law.

The hearing comes amid ongoing congressional interest in the transparency of government records, including those related to Jeffrey Epstein and associated investigations.

Bondi concluded by reaffirming the Department of Justice’s commitment to accountability, enforcement of court orders, and collaboration with local and federal partners to ensure the safety and security of communities across the country.
