The desert wind rattled the canvas walls of the forward command tent outside Fallujah as Chief Petty Officer David Hayes studied a satellite map under dim red lights.
It was nearly midnight.
His SEAL team had just finished planning a high-risk operation scheduled for dawn when the secure satellite phone on the folding table buzzed.
David frowned. Only a handful of people had that number.
He picked it up.
“Chief Hayes.”
