While the initial prognosis was dire, doctors are now reporting encouraging signs of recovery. Lt. Bill Whitaker of the Antioch Police Department said:
“She’s starting to regain her eyesight and being able to walk again. Everything is trending in the right direction, but she still has a long road ahead.”
To support the family during this crisis, a GoFundMe page has been launched, aiming to cover medical bills, therapy, living expenses, and relocation costs. The campaign emphasizes that the family no longer feels safe in their home and must move to a safer community while caring for their daughter. The page has already raised nearly $25,000.
“Her road ahead will require extensive medical care, therapy, and long-term emotional healing,” the GoFundMe reads. “The family must leave everything behind to ensure a safe and stable future for all their children.”
The community continues to rally around the family, sending thoughts, prayers, and support as they navigate this unimaginable ordeal.
Our hearts go out to the young girl, her family, and all those affected. You can help by sharing this story and contributing to their GoFundMe to support her recovery.
