A crisp, sunny morning at Brookfield Zoo in Illinois turned extraordinary when a young visitor found himself in danger — and was unexpectedly protected by a gorilla.
An eight-year-old boy, visiting the zoo with his mother, slipped near the gorilla enclosure and fell into the area where the gorillas roam. For onlookers, the situation was tense: gorillas are strong and unpredictable, and even a brief encounter with humans can be dangerous.
