He powered it on. Hands flew across the controls, instincts guiding every move. For a moment, all seemed fine—until alarms blared. The process stalled. Panic nudged in. He pressed buttons at random, hoping for a miracle.
“Step five has changed,” his colleague said from across the room.
“Step five?” he scoffed. “I’ve done this a hundred times. I know what I’m doing.”
