After my wife gave birth, I wanted to make sure she had all the support she needed during recovery. Since my work kept me busy, I arranged for my mother to stay with her and help at home. I also sent money each month to cover expenses and ensure proper care.
One afternoon, my schedule changed unexpectedly, so I decided to return home early. On the way, I picked up some items the doctor had recommended to support my wife’s recovery.
When I arrived, the house was unusually quiet. As I walked into the kitchen, I noticed my wife sitting alone, eating quickly and trying to hide what was in her bowl.
