I’ve never been good at sitting still when I’m stressed. I clean. Not lightly, but intensely—scrubbing, organizing, resetting everything around me until my environment feels under control again.

My husband mentioned that his friend had lost her apartment and needed somewhere to stay temporarily. He said they had reconnected recently, almost casually, like it wasn’t important.
