Kristi Noem Faces Tough Question About Corey Lewandowski During Congressional Hearing

Noem responded strongly, emphasizing that the question was inappropriate:

“I am shocked we’re going down and peddling tabloid garbage in this committee.”

She clarified Lewandowski’s role, noting that he is a special government employee who works for the White House and does not have decision-making authority within DHS. Both Noem and Lewandowski have repeatedly denied any personal relationship, and both are married.

Other lawmakers pressed the issue, with Rep. Jared Moskowitz suggesting that a direct denial could address the rumors. Noem maintained her stance, calling the line of questioning “ridiculous” and emphasizing that she had refuted the claims for years.

Following the hearing, reports indicated that President Donald Trump decided to replace Noem as Homeland Security Secretary. Sen. Markwayne Mullin will assume the role at the end of the month. Noem will transition to a new position as Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, part of a Western Hemisphere security initiative scheduled to be announced in Florida.
