A lip reader has revealed what Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, reportedly said to his half-sister, Ivanka Trump, during the president’s State of the Union address.
On February 24, 2026, Donald Trump delivered the longest State of the Union speech in U.S. history, lasting 1 hour and 48 minutes. He praised the state of the economy, criticized Democrats, and briefly addressed foreign affairs.
Trump also touched on religion, saying, “I’m very proud to say that during my time in office, both the first four years, and in particular this last year, there has been a tremendous renewal in religion, faith, Christianity and belief in God.”
Donald Trump’s Swipe at Melania During the Speech
Members of his family attended the event, including his wife, Melania Trump. At one point, Trump highlighted her contributions and popularity:
“Nobody cares more about protecting America’s youth than our first lady — she’s now a movie star, can you believe it? Who would’ve believed that?” he said. “Over the past year she’s had an incredible impact, implementing AI legislation, advancing a landmark executive order on foster care and securing 30 million dollars to launch the Melania Trump foster youth to independence initiative. It’s tremendous.”
He jokingly added, “It’s a really tremendous thing that happened and she got a lot of bipartisan support. She gets much better bipartisan support than I do. I get none, she gets a lot. Some day you’re going to have to tell me how you did that!”
Barron and Ivanka Trump
Trump’s daughter Ivanka and 19-year-old Barron were also present to support their father during the address. This was Barron’s first public appearance since Donald Trump’s inauguration.
During the speech, Barron was seen exchanging a few words with Ivanka. Now, lip reader Jeremy Freeman claims he can reveal what was said between them.
Freeman told The Mirror that Ivanka turned to her brother and asked: “What are you doing on…?” though he could not interpret the final word. Barron reportedly replied, “I’m not sure, I couldn’t be a***d.”
Exactly what Ivanka asked and the subject of their exchange remains unclear.
