Michelle Obama on Hypothetical Third-Term Run for Barack Obama: “Eight Years Is Enough”

“We’re changing and growing so fast. This is a hard job, and it requires new energy, new vision all the time,” she explained. “People with a new set of experiences, a new take on the world… this new generation is coming up. They travel more, know more about the world, and are exposed to different perspectives. That curiosity is exactly what’s needed to address challenges we face.”

She added, “I really believe eight years is enough. We don’t have all the answers, and that’s okay. That’s why it’s important to allow new voices and ideas to step in.”

Her comments highlight her view that leadership renewal and generational change are essential in politics, even as discussions about former presidents and potential candidates continue in public discourse.
