Because of her, Evan never felt unloved.

He believed his family story was simple.

But on the day of his college graduation, everything changed.

The campus was packed with proud parents, excited graduates, and families taking photos from every angle.

Laura arrived early, just like she always did for important moments. She wore a pale blue dress and the pearl necklace Evan had seen her wear on special occasions throughout his life.

When she spotted him in his cap and gown, her eyes filled with tears.

During the ceremony, Evan walked across the stage and searched the crowd. He found his mother almost immediately. She was standing, clapping, crying, and smiling all at once.

It felt perfect.
