A Heartbreaking Loss That Shook a Community
The hockey world is mourning a devastating loss after a house fire in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, claimed the lives of respected NHL reporter Jessi Pierce and her three young children.
Pierce, 37, along with her children—Hudson (8), Cayden (6), and Avery (4)—lost their lives early Saturday morning when a fast-moving fire engulfed their home. The family dog also perished in the incident.
The tragedy has left family, friends, and colleagues in shock, as many struggle to process the sudden loss of a beloved voice in the hockey community.
Fire Spread Rapidly Before Help Arrived
According to officials, emergency crews responded to urgent calls from neighbors who reported flames shooting through the roof. By the time firefighters arrived, the home was already fully engulfed.
A nearby resident described waking to a chaotic scene filled with smoke and confusion, highlighting just how quickly the fire spread.
Authorities later confirmed that Pierce’s husband was not home at the time, as he was away for work.
Investigation Points Away From Intentional Cause
As the investigation continues, early findings from the White Bear Lake Fire Department indicate that there is currently no evidence suggesting the fire was intentionally set.
