Shortly after sunrise on Thursday, what began as a routine shift change at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital quickly turned into a significant law enforcement response. The hospital, located about 24 miles north of Detroit, was placed under temporary lockdown following reports of a possible armed individual inside the facility.
Initial alerts began circulating just after 7 a.m., when staff reported hearing sounds that raised safety concerns. Within minutes, hospital officials activated emergency protocols. Overhead announcements instructed employees to shelter in place, secure rooms, and wait for further direction.
