The coroner has requested evidence from the doctors involved in her care at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Medical negligence attorney Diane Rostron emphasized that specialist advice should have been sought. “The hospital was given clear guidance to consult a neuromuscular specialist,” Rostron stated. Had this step been taken, Ryleigh could have been diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, and her family given the chance to explore life-saving treatment options.
