I held that smile for as long as I could.
Daniel looked at me like he had already won. Like walking away for four months, missing the birth of our daughters, and returning with someone else beside him was just a business decision he had made.
He didn’t see the exhaustion behind my eyes.
He didn’t see the nights I spent sitting beside three tiny hospital bassinets, praying each morning that our daughters would grow stronger.
