Early Life and Alaska Roots
Although Sarah Palin is often seen as a symbol of Alaska, she was not born there. She was born Sarah Louise Heath on February 11, 1964, in Sandpoint, Idaho. When she was just a few months old, her family relocated to Alaska due to her father’s job opportunity. They eventually settled in Wasilla, where Palin spent most of her childhood.
