A storm was pounding against the windows when Tyler opened his front door for a food delivery.
He expected a quick exchange.

The woman on his porch was Charlotte.

“Your order, sir,” she said politely.
Tyler could barely answer.
At seventeen, he had been shy, grieving, and painfully lonely after losing both parents. His classmates mocked his weight and treated him like he didn’t belong. Prom season only made it worse.
Then, one day, while other students laughed at him, Charlotte stepped forward.
“He’s going with me,” she said.
