The manager looked down at the check, then back up at the woman with a puzzled expression.
“But ma’am… this check is for $50. I told you the total is $250,” he said, trying to stay polite.
The 70-year-old woman smiled calmly and adjusted her glasses.
“That’s correct,” she replied. “I’m charging you $200.”
The manager blinked in confusion. “Charging me? For what?”
“Well,” she said, folding her arms confidently, “I was available last night.”
The manager frowned. “Available for what exactly?”
