President Donald Trump announced on Monday that Tom Homan, former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), will be sent to Minnesota to oversee federal immigration operations in the Twin Cities. The move comes in the wake of recent unrest following law enforcement-related incidents in the state.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said Homan will “report directly” to him and help coordinate ongoing ICE operations in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
“Tom Homan will be managing ICE operations on the ground in Minnesota and coordinating with others on the ongoing investigations,” Trump wrote.
