Federal prosecutors have announced that two men from Philadelphia have pleaded guilty to wire fraud after orchestrating a multi-state scheme that defrauded Minnesota’s Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) program of approximately $3.5 million.
According to court documents, Anthony Jefferson and Lester Brown crossed state lines to take advantage of the HSS program, which is designed to help vulnerable individuals—including people with disabilities, seniors, and those recovering from substance use disorders—secure stable housing through Medicaid-funded services.
