According to the United States Department of Defense, Jayson Reed Haven was killed in a vehicle rollover incident at Camp Buehring while deployed as part of Operation Spartan Shield. Officials confirmed the accident occurred on Thursday and stated that the circumstances remain under investigation. No additional details have been released regarding how the rollover happened or whether other personnel were involved.
Dedicated Service in the Middle East
Haven was serving in the U.S. Central Command area of operations, where American forces work alongside partner nations to support regional stability and strengthen defense cooperation. Haven joined the U.S. Army in 2020 after graduating from high school in Aiken, South Carolina. He was assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 118th Infantry Regiment, part of the 218th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade based in Charleston, South Carolina.
Reports indicate he previously trained at Fort Benning, a major Army installation known for preparing soldiers for leadership and field operations. After completing training and early assignments, he was deployed overseas in 2022.
