Video Raises Questions About Nonprofit Guidance on Voting in New York City Election

A New York City–based nonprofit organization is facing scrutiny after an undercover video released by O’Keefe Media Group appeared to show a staff member providing questionable guidance about voting procedures during the city’s recent mayoral election.

The footage, shared by O’Keefe Media Group founder James O’Keefe, shows an undercover journalist posing as a noncitizen who told the nonprofit’s executive director that he was not registered to vote and was seeking information on how to cast a ballot. The nonprofit, La Jornada, describes its mission as assisting migrants with paperwork and legal needs.
