When One Truck Turns Chaos into a Kilometer-Long Nightmare

The Mexico–Querétaro Highway, a crucial route connecting Mexico City to northern manufacturing hubs, became the scene of a dramatic accident on Wednesday, November 20. Near kilometer 059+000, close to the Jorobas intersection in Huehuetoca, a heavily loaded transport trailer lost control and caused a multi-vehicle collision that temporarily paralyzed traffic and drew attention to the challenges of highway safety.

The Incident

Reports indicate that the accident occurred during light rainfall, which created slippery road conditions. As the trailer approached the Jorobas intersection—a section known for heavy traffic and lane shifts—the driver attempted to slow down but was unable to maintain control due to the slick surface and the vehicle’s large load.
