Hollywood has lost one of those performers whose face could make a scene feel instantly familiar.
Matt Clark, the veteran character actor whose career stretched across more than five decades, died on March 15, 2026, at his home in Austin, Texas. He was 89. His daughter confirmed his death, and reports said he had been dealing with complications following surgery.
For many viewers, Clark may not have been the actor whose name appeared first in the credits.
But his face was familiar.
