The quiet town of Val Rendena, northern Italy, is in shock after the sudden death of 15-year-old figure skating sensation Matilda Ferrari. A Morning of Promise Turns Tragic
Matilda was walking to school along State Road 239, a route she took daily, when a cement mixer operated by Cunaccia Construction struck her at a crosswalk near her home. Investigators are reviewing the accident, including driver actions, infrastructure, and safety measures.
A Town in Mourning

Classmates remembered her bright spirit: “Even when exhausted from training, she never stopped smiling.”
