Federal authorities are reportedly investigating an alleged criminal network involving motorcycle gangs and commercial trucking operations, according to online reports claiming that the DEA and FBI carried out coordinated raids across multiple locations.
The reports allege that as many as 30 trucking businesses were targeted as part of an investigation into suspected drug trafficking, weapons movement and financial crimes. According to the claims circulating online, investigators believe legitimate freight companies may have been used to conceal illegal shipments and move them across state lines.
The operation has reportedly focused on how organized criminal groups could exploit the nationwide trucking industry to transport illicit goods while appearing to conduct ordinary commercial business.
