Apple Pie Cake

Optional Toppings and Variations

  • Streusel topping: 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch
  • Caramel drizzle or cream cheese frosting

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Apples
Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. Toss them with brown sugar and cinnamon until evenly coated. Set aside.

Step 2: Make the Cake Batter
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 3: Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth.

Step 4: Assemble the Cake
Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan. Pour half of the batter into the pan and spread evenly. Layer the cinnamon-coated apples over the batter. Pour the remaining cake batter over the apples and spread carefully.

Step 5: Add Optional Toppings
If using streusel or nuts, sprinkle them evenly over the top of the cake before baking.

Step 6: Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 7: Cool and Serve
Allow the cake to cool for 15–20 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature. Optionally, top with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
