Beloved TV Journalist Passes Away at 61 After Cancer Battle

A well-known Canadian television journalist has passed away at the age of 61 following a long battle with cancer. According to reports from CTV News, she died peacefully on Sunday morning surrounded by her family.

Over a career that spanned more than three decades, Thomson became a familiar and trusted presence in Canadian news. She joined CTV News Toronto as a reporter and later served as an anchor on Canada AM. She also worked as a news anchor for Global News from 1997 to 2003.

Throughout her career, she covered major national and international events, including the 2016 U.S. presidential election. She was also known for conducting thoughtful interviews with prominent public figures such as Céline Dion, Shania Twain, Donald Trump, and Chris Hadfield.
