Trump Announces “Huge Present” from Iran Amid Claims of Regional Progress
Former President Donald Trump stunned reporters this week, claiming he received what he described as a “very big” present from Iran, despite his recent remarks that the country had been “obliterated.”
Speaking at the White House on Tuesday, Trump told the press, “They’re gonna make a deal. They did something yesterday that was amazing, actually. They gave us a present, and the present arrived today. It was a very big present, worth a tremendous amount of money.”
While Trump did not provide exact details, he suggested the gift was linked to oil, gas, and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, calling it a “very significant prize.” He added, “I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was very meaningful, and they gave it to us.”
Trump framed the move as a positive step in ongoing negotiations with Iran, claiming the country had agreed it would “never have a nuclear weapon.” He said, “That meant one thing to me—we’re dealing with the right people.”
Iran, however, rejected Trump’s claims, labeling them as “fake news.” Officials reiterated that their forces would continue operations until “complete victory” is achieved, pushing back against any suggestion of U.S. dominance in the region.
