Fans Make the Same Critique About Kid Rock’s Alternative Halftime Show Set

Past Controversies Resurface
The backlash didn’t end with lip-syncing. Old lyrics from Kid Rock’s 2001 track “Cool, Daddy Cool” resurfaced online, drawing renewed criticism for references to underage girls. Clips from a 2001 Saturday Night Live appearance, in which he joked about Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, fueled even more outrage.

“SO gross!” one viewer wrote.
“It’s no wonder the MAGA base loves him,” added another.

Still, supporters defended the rocker.

“Kid Rock busted out ‘Bawitdaba.’ Unbelievable and totally awesome!” one fan cheered.
“TPUSA halftime performance was worth it. History was made tonight,” another added.

Numbers Tell the Story

Despite the controversy, the livestream reportedly peaked at around 5 million viewers, later climbing to over 18 million views on YouTube. Love him or hate him, Kid Rock’s appearance made an undeniable impact.
