The Strange Smell I Tried to Ignore
At first, I told myself it was nothing.
Just a faint smell in the room.
Not strong enough to cause alarm, but unusual enough to notice.
I remember lying in bed that first night, quietly trying to figure out where it was coming from. The room was clean, the sheets were freshly washed, and everything seemed normal.
So I brushed it off.
“It’s probably nothing,” I thought, and went to sleep.
But the story didn’t end there.
When Something Small Keeps Returning
Over the next few nights, the smell returned.
Then it happened again.
And again.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks slowly turned into months. What once felt like a small detail started becoming a pattern I couldn’t ignore anymore.
At first, I kept quiet about it. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of something that might just be my imagination.
But inside, questions began to build.
Where was it coming from?
Why did it only seem to happen at night?
And why had I never noticed it before?
The Doubt That Started to Grow
Eventually, the situation began to bother me more than I expected.
I checked the room again and again. I looked for anything that might explain it—laundry, furniture, the air in the house, even small things like candles or cleaning products.
