As I moved in closer, the detail became impossible to dismiss. It wasn’t dirt. It wasn’t paint. It wasn’t anything I could immediately recognize.

It had an uneven, almost natural shape—like it had formed rather than been placed there. No sharp edges, no clear structure, just a soft, irregular mass clinging to the metal surface.

It looked slightly translucent, almost gelatin-like, catching light in a strange, subtle way. Not moving—but giving the impression that it could. Just enough to make my brain question what I was looking at.

For a moment, I just stood there trying to process it.

When you don’t recognize something, your imagination fills in the gaps quickly. I found myself running through possibilities—none of them particularly reassuring. Some kind of insect formation? Decay? Eggs? Something completely unknown?

What made it more unsettling was the timing.

I was certain it hadn’t been there the day before.
