Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, has publicly addressed recent discussions within his party over whether Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents should be required to remove face coverings during enforcement operations.
Fetterman told Fox News and other outlets that he supports ICE agents having the option to wear masks in some situations, citing concerns that publicizing officers’ identities could lead to doxxing — the sharing of personal information online — and potentially put agents and their families at risk. He said those safety concerns are part of the reason some agents choose to conceal their faces while working.
