From under the bed she watched his shoes step toward the dresser. He picked up the note and read it.
There was a pause.
Then he calmly picked up a pen and wrote something on the paper.
Her heart started pounding.
Next, he grabbed his phone and made a call.
“Hey,” he said. “She’s finally gone.”
The woman under the bed felt her stomach drop.
“Yeah, I know… it’s about time,” he continued. “I’m coming over. Put on that sexy French nightie. I love you. I can’t wait to see you. We’ll do all those naughty things you like.”
He hung up the phone, grabbed his keys, and walked out the door.
The wife under the bed was absolutely furious. Her face turned red with anger and embarrassment.
“How dare he!” she whispered to herself.
She crawled out from under the bed, stormed over to the dresser, and snatched up the note to see what he had written.
Under her message, he had scribbled:
“I can see your feet under the bed. I’m going out for milk.” 😄
