Despite the UK government declining to formally participate, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has appeared publicly supportive of a new international initiative championed by Donald Trump—an initiative that critics say could challenge the role and authority of the United Nations.
Trump has confirmed the creation of what he calls the Board of Peace, a body he says is intended to promote conflict resolution and post-war reconstruction, particularly in regions affected by prolonged instability. He has also indicated that he will serve as the organization’s long-term chair.
